France Telecom has won the first GSM licence for mobile phone services in
Slovakia through its
subsidiary France Telecom Mobiles International (FTMI). The licence was
awarded to the
consortium Slovtel, led by FTMI. Slovtel plans to invest over one billion
French francs over the
next ten years, creating 250 posts in the next two years and employing
500 more people in the
next ten years.
