GSM Network In Montenegro Goes Live Promonte GSM claimed the official launch of their GSM network in Montenegro on August 2, announcing that the network will cover most regions of the country by December 1996. The Promonte GSM consortium - consisting of Telenor AS, the PTT of Montenegro and a number of Greek investors - was awarded a 20-year licence to build and operate the GSM service in October 1995.
