Cellnet STG6 Million Mobile Investment In Northern Ireland Cellnet, the UK mobile phone network operator, announced plans late last week for a STG6 million investment on its digital network in Northern Ireland. Over the next 18 months, Cellnet said it would improve network coverage and capacity in Belfast, Dungannon, Cookstown, Portadown, Lurgan and Downpatrick. Motorways and main roads will also have service levels upgraded to improve coverage. Cellnet claims to have invested STG50 million in its Northern Ireland service to date, including STG18 million in its digital GSM network. The latest STG6 million investment will be spent on 25 new digital transmitters, bringing the total to 45.
